Recovery Month at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center
It’s Recovery Month – an annual observance that raises awareness of mental and substance use disorders and the effective treatment and recovery services that are available. Millions of Americans experience mental and substance use disorders each year.
TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is honored to highlight and recognize Dr. Juris Shibayama for his vision and passion to positivity impact our patients by offering an Alcoholic Anonymous Recovery Program within the hospital.
Dr. Shibayama has made it his mission to ensure that everyone knows that the medical evidence clearly shows AA works best to treat alcoholism. “When patients are admitted to the hospital, we treat whatever diseases they have. Prior to starting the AA recovery program, we weren’t doing anything in the inpatient setting to treat the root disease of alcoholism. We were merely treating the consequences of it, not addressing the primary issue.” said Dr. Shibayama.
Starting at the root cause of a patient’s illness is the only way to deliver compassionate, extraordinary care that goes above and beyond to offer treatment and recovery, while also positively impacting additional health related conditions. The hospital-based AA Recover Program is now being offered across all TriStar facilities.
