Redstone Federal Credit Union Surprises Grocery Shoppers with Free Groceries

Redstone Federal Credit Union turned its 75th-anniversary celebration into a gift for the community. Instead of receiving presents, they are giving them away – specifically by picking up the tab for local shoppers at the checkout line.

Giving Back with No Strings Attached
This year-long initiative features giveaway events at grocery stores throughout the counties Redstone serves. Kendra Howells, Senior Business Development Officer, shared that this benefit is open to everyone:

  • No Membership Required: Shoppers do not need to be Redstone members for their groceries to be paid for.
  • No Price Limits: The credit union has placed no cap on the total cost of the groceries they will cover for selected shoppers.

The Impact on Local Families
The initiative is already making a tangible difference for families facing tight budgets. By removing the financial barrier at the register, Redstone is helping parents provide more for their children.

“We’ve seen a lot of kids get things they may not have otherwise received because their parents were limited on what they could get,” Howells noted. “Being able to provide something as essential as milk or an extra item is super helpful for families.”
