Redstone’s Letters to Santa campaign contributes cash and cheer to children’s charities

Christmas celebrations continued at Redstone Federal Credit Union last week when the organization presented checks for $9,000 to two children’s charities as part of its Letters to Santa campaign.

Each December, Redstone asks area communities to help brighten the lives of children and families by sending a letter to Santa. For every letter dropped in a special Redstone mailbox or emailed to Santa from Redstone’s website, the Credit Union donates $1 to local charities. December’s campaign collected more letters than any of the previous three years.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of North Alabama and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rutherford County Tennessee were the selected charities and will each receive $9,000.

“Our Letters to Santa campaign is another way Redstone serves its communities,’’ said Mike Panesi, Vice President of Tennessee Market.

“It’s a fun way to connect with the children and their parents while supporting charities that make a difference in the lives of children every day,’’ Panesi said.

Sheryl Chesnutt, Boys and Girls Clubs of Rutherford County CEO, said the campaign brought together friends and supporters from various areas.

“It is an honor to be chosen as benefactor of Redstone’s Letters to Santa campaign,‘’ Chesnutt said.  “We had multiple businesses and schools get on board with collecting letters and contributing to our cause. The campaign was a highly effective way to cross promote our services in a fun and engaging way, and involved all generations,’’ she said.
