Relay For Life of Murfreesboro Returns

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Murfreesboro is returning in 2026, and community support is needed to make this highly anticipated event a success.
The Relay For Life planning committee is calling on individuals, families, church groups, youth organizations, civic groups, and community teams of all ages to volunteer and get involved.
“This event is deeply personal to me, as I lost my mother to colon cancer,” said Dana J. Smith, member of the Relay For Life of Murfreesboro planning committee. “Relay For Life represents hope, remembrance, and action – and this year is especially meaningful as it marks our community’s first Relay since the pandemic.”
Volunteers are needed to assist with:
- Event set-up
- Tear-down
- Trash collection
- Booth support and assistance
Whether serving individually or as part of a group, volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the event’s success.
In addition to volunteers, organizers are seeking:
- Relay teams
- Vendors
- Sponsors
- Community supporters
This year’s Relay For Life will be led by Denise Bond, a dedicated community advocate who is currently battling cancer—serving as a powerful reminder of the mission behind the event.
