Race day for the Middle Half is just around the corner. Here are the road closures you need to know about so you don’t get stuck in traffic.
Event: Murfreesboro Half Marathon
- Nickname: “The Middle Half” (NOT “The Middle Half Marathon”)

- Date: Saturday, October 8, 2022
- Time: 7:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Place:
- Start: Main Street, Murfreesboro (In front of Central Magnet School)
- Finish: Historic Downtown Square, Main Street, Murfreesboro
Road Closures/traffic delays begin at 6:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
- Over 1200 runners registered
- This is the last year for the event (15th in person, skipped 1 year for Covid)
- Certified course: 13.1 miles
- Donations to local organizations from past 15 years total almost $500k
- Runners coming from 20 different states
- Runners from age 14 – 84
- Course runs through Middle Tennessee State University, by Oaklands Mansion, around the historic downtown square, down Main Street and is known by runners as being FLAT • FAST • FUN! Many state records have been broken on The Middle Half course.
This year’s event honors Miles Tate (event founder) who passed away suddenly in April this year.
