CEO John McFadden of the Tennessee Environmental Council received a $2,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Murfreesboro in support the City of Murfreesboro’s uncovering of Town Creek near the historic Bottoms near downtown Murfreesboro.
The $2,000 grant will assist the ecological project of daylighting Town Creek as it flows between the Murfree Spring wetland and Cannonsburgh.
Uncovering Town Creek began recently with the razing of the former Kentucky Fried Chicken on South Church near the intersection with N.W. Broad Street. Work will continue throughout the summer of 2016.
