Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital awarded $985,000 grant

Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital has been awarded a $985,000 grant from The Christy Houston Foundation, Inc. which will be used in a facility expansion to house a new 256 slice CT unit at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

The Christy Houston Foundation presented the grant to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in late 2018 and expansion of the facility to accommodate new CT technology will take place in 2019. The new CT unit will include an expansion of more than 1,000 square feet at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

The mission of The Christy-Houston Foundation, Inc. is to enhance the quality of life in Rutherford County, Tennessee, with emphasis on health care. “The successful grant application to provide a physical expansion at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for a new, state-of-the art CT scanner will undoubtedly benefit thousands of Rutherford County residents over the life of the equipment,” said Anne Davis, President of The Christy-Houston Foundation, Inc.

The addition of new CT technology will allow clinicians at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital to more quickly and efficiently complete complex scans for individuals with higher quality imaging and less radiation exposure to the patient.
