Sheriff Fitzhugh Fields Questions From Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Members

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office welcomed residents to the spring Sheriff’s Citizens Academy class. Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh and the command staff greeted the members and answered questions during the first class.

Classes include:

  • Learning about the Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigations Division.
  • Taking a tour of the Adult Detention Center and Judicial Center.
  • Shooting at the range.
  • Listening to deputies talk about mental health calls and negotiations.
  • Watching the K9s and Mounted Patrol horses.
  • Studying SWAT operations.
