Sheriff’s Office command staff welcomes new patrol deputies

Rutherford County Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh and the top Sheriff’s Office leaders met seven new patrol deputies Monday on their first training day.

Fitzhugh explained some of the Sheriff’s Office’s operations, duties and expectations.

New deputies will undergo several weeks of classroom training and on-the-job training while waiting to attend the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Deputies started the day taking the oath of office from General Sessions Court Judge Lisa Eischeid.
