Middle Tennessee State University has officially opened the Stephen and Denise Smith Student-Athlete Performance Center with a grand ribbon-cutting on July 30, 2025. This transformative $66 million, 85,000 square-foot, three-story facility, anchored at the north end of Floyd Stadium, now houses Blue Raider football operations and serves as a centralized high-performance hub for all 17 MTSU athletic teams.

The center features a striking Kevin Byard Strength and Conditioning Center, state-of-the-art sports medicine and rehabilitation spaces, a dedicated nutrition station, and luxurious amenities such as the SRM Concrete Club on the third floor with premium stadium views.

Named spaces throughout honor significant donors, including the Tommy & Judy Smith Lobby, coach and staff offices, and more tech-enhanced meeting and recovery areas, all designed to elevate student-athlete performance, recruitment, and wellness.

In short, the opening of this center marks a pivotal leap forward for MTSU athletics, setting a new standard for excellence, unity, and ambition across the Blue Raider community.
