Smyrna Creates ‘No Solicitation’ List for Homeowners

Door-to-door salespeople in Smyrna may want to think twice before knocking.

The Town of Smyna has launched a brand-new “No Solicitation” registry designed to give homeowners more privacy and control over who comes to their door.

Residents can now sign up online and add their address to an official database. Once registered, commercial businesses are required to check the list before sending sales teams into neighborhoods.

If a salesperson ignores the registry and knocks on a registered home, the company could face code violation fines from the town.

To help residents make their wishes clear, Smyrna is also offering free official “No Solicitation” stickers. Homeowners can download a temporary version online or pick up a permanent sticker at Town Hall on South Lowry Street.

The move follows a growing trend in Rutherford County, with neighboring La Vergne already operating a similar “No Knock” program.

Town officials say residents who experience violations can report them online through Smyrna’s non-emergency solicitation reporting system.

For homeowners looking for a little more peace and quiet, Smyrna’s new registry could be a welcome solution.
