19th Annual Special Kids Golf Classic Raises $54,000
$54,000 was raised for local nonprofit Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center in the organization’s 19th Annual Golf Classic presented by Nissan North America on Thursday and Friday, May 3 and 4, at Indian Hills Golf Course in Murfreesboro.
The annual event hosted 51 teams with over 200 players participating to help children with special needs in middle Tennessee. The golf scramble held a two day tournament, allowing participants to play in the afternoon hours both days. Golfers enjoyed lunch and snacks provided by The Alley on Main, Buffalo Wild Wings, Newk’s Eatery, Slick Pig BBQ and Smoothie King.
Winners for the Thursday tournament were Volunteer State Bank with Chad Hill, Casey Rainey, Dan Ebbutt and Corey Garner. Team Jeremy Head Golf Shop & Academy took the top title in the Friday tournament with team members that included Jeremy Head, Mike Massey, Anthony Pollock and Dalton Gray.
Nissan North America presented the tournament for the eighth consecutive year with CVS Health as the Ace Hole-In-One Sponsor. Tri-Star Title Co., LLC, Chick-fil-a Murfreesboro, Yates Services and Adam’s Family Foundation were the Albatross sponsors. Eagle sponsors included Stanlick Chiropractic, Middle Tennessee Electric, Backer EHP, Smoothie King, Atco, Calsonic Kansei North America, Inc., H A Beasley & Company, PLLC and Newk’s Eatery. Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. The Murfreesboro-based ministry started with one child in 1998 and has grown to serve over 3,700 children from 19 counties in middle Tennessee.
