Stones River Mall and JCPenney Partner to Present Back-to-School Safety Bash on Aug. 20

Stones River Mall and JCPenney have joined forces to present a Back-to-School
Safety Bash from Noon-2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, in the JCPenney parking lot.
Children of all ages are invited to explore fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency response
vehicles with Murfreesboro Fire Department, and local EMS crews. Additionally, Rutherford County

Sheriff’s Department will bring its “Seatbelt Convincer,” a hands-on simulator that demonstrates a low-
impact 5-10 mph vehicle collision to stress the importance of wearing a seat belt.

Attendees can also enjoy complimentary face painting and balloon art during this family-friendly event.
“JCPenney fully supports our police and fire departments. With this event, we hope to promote not only
a safe shopping experience, but also to forge new bonds and strengthen existing partnerships between
first responders, community organizations, and the individuals they serve,” explained Robert Catron,
who oversees asset protection at JCPenney’s Stones River Mall location.
