Stones River National Battlefield Accessible to Public during Government Shutdown

During the shutdown of the federal government due to the lapse of appropriations, national parks will remain as accessible as possible while still following all applicable laws and procedures. Park roads, lookouts, trails and open-air memorials at Stones River National Battlefield, will remain accessible to visitors, but emergency and rescue services will be limited.

There will be no NPS-provided visitor services at Stones River National Battlefield, including public information, interpretive programs, restrooms, trash collection, and facilities and roads maintenance.

Because of the federal government shutdown, NPS social media and websites are not being monitored or updated and may not reflect current conditions.

The visitor center parking lot, McFadden Farm unit, and Redoubt Brannan will remain open to the public from 8 AM to 5 PM. Visitors may access park roads on foot or by bike. The park tour road and Stones River National Cemetery will be closed to vehicles.
