Tennessee Gets a New Way to Extended Stay
Uptown Suites, a new brand of extended stay properties, is officially launching its Smyrna location. The public is invited to attend the free Grand Upening on Thursday, June 22nd at 4:00 PM. The Smyrna property will be the first Uptown Suites in Tennessee and second nationwide. The event will feature tours of the new property, “Suite” refreshments, and a summer style barbecue cookout.
The new property is owned by Starwood Capital Group and further expands their position in the economy-tier extended stay segment. Starwood Capital Chairman Barry Sternlicht, who also founded such iconic luxury brands as Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and the W Hotels lifestyle brand, said that “Uptown Suites embodies my vision of a new way to extended stay, and combines apartment-style studio rooms with the flexibility of a hotel.”
Industry veteran, Justin Bailey, will manage the new property. “I am very excited to be a part of Uptown Suites. Smyrna is a great location and we have received tremendous support from the community. As a team, we look forward to sharing our passion for hospitality and our knowledge of the area, to create a connected, convenient, and comfortable experience”, said Justin.
Uptown Suites provides apartment-style studios, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The rooms are equipped with modern kitchenettes and a high degree of technology. Uptown CEO, Jonathan Pertchik explained that this technology is designed to keep guests connected, and includes class leading Wi-Fi, numerous USB charging outlets, 43” HDTVs, electric car charging stations, and more. Pertchik said: “We are inviting the community to connect with Uptown, and tour the new property. The property appeals to a wide variety of guests including business travelers, individuals and families in transition, contract workers, and vacationers. We’ve built this entire brand around the needs of travelers wanting a place to call home for a while, also welcoming those needing 1 or 2 night stays as well.”
“Smyrna and Rutherford County are thriving communities,” added Pertchik. “Selecting this location for one of our first properties was an easy choice. We are happy to be in the area and have been overwhelmed at the level of support we have received from the City of Smyrna, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, and many others. We look forward to a great relationship.”
The Smyrna Uptown Suites is located at 742 President Place, just off Sam Ridley Parkway at I-24, exit 66.
