The BORO Art Crawl “Sidewalk Chalk Contest”

Register to participate in The BORO Art Crawl “Sidewalk Chalk Contest” Friday, September 15th. No fee for registration. Drawing can begin any time after 8:00am and must be completed by 6:00pm. Judging occurs 6:00-7:00pm. Winners announced from the stage during the Friday Night Live concert at 8pm.  Click here to register!

The BORO Art Crawl Sidewalk Chalk Contest

  • 1st place prize for each age category (Early Youth 6-13 years, Older Youth 14-17, Amateur Adult 18+, Professional Chalk Artist 18+)
  • Gift cards will be awarded to winners.
  • Artists responsible for their own chalk, design, supplies needed to complete work.

Rules: Only non-oil based washable chalk may be used! Designs must not exceed assigned sidewalk space. Space is preassigned to each artist. ALL ARTWORK MUST BE APPROPRIATE FOR PUBLIC VIEWING BY ALL AGE GROUPS. No political messages, words or symbols intended as advertising or promotion may appear. Event organizers have the right to disqualify and remove any inappropriate art. Anyone participating in the “Early Youth” category must be accompanied by an adult 18+ at all times.

Each participant will be asked to take a picture of their artwork once completed and text to Sarah Callender in order to be judged.

This is a free community event to promote the arts downtown! This event will be in correlation with The Boro Art Crawl (5-8pm) and Main Street Murfreesboro’s Friday Night Live Concert on the square (6:30-9:30pm). The square will be closed to traffic starting at 6pm due to crowds forming in the streets for the concert.
