The Collective at Building Hope Welcomes Janiece Milner as Executive Director

The Collective at Building Hope is proud to announce Janiece Milner as its new Executive Director. With a strong background in leadership, human resources, and social work, Milner brings both professional expertise and a deep personal commitment to serving others.

The Collective at Building Hope, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Liberty’s Station and Amelia’s Closet, is dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals seeking confidence, purpose, and a path forward. Through its job readiness program at Liberty’s Station and supportive job interview resources at Amelia’s Closet, the organization equips individuals with the tools needed to move forward with their God-given potential.

Milner’s leadership is rooted in empathy, accountability, and a people-first approach. With experience in workforce development, trauma-informed care, and team leadership, she is known for building strong systems, fostering open communication, and creating environments where individuals can grow and succeed.

Her work has included serving vulnerable populations across Middle Tennessee, supervising and mentoring social work interns, and collaborating with community partners through organizations such as the Rutherford County Continuum of Care.

“Janiece is an answer to many prayers for the right person, and one with a heart for both of our programs. God sent her ‘for such a time as this,’ and I am so hopeful about our growth potential with Janiece as my successor,” said Jody Powers, founder of Liberty’s Station and Amelia’s Closet.

Milner’s passion for service extends beyond her professional work. She has volunteered in homeless shelters, served as a foster parent, adopted two children with special needs, and opened her home to individuals seeking stability and support. These experiences shape her commitment to creating spaces where individuals feel valued, supported, and empowered.

“I am honored to step into this role and continue the meaningful work already happening at The Collective at Building Hope,” said Milner. “Liberty’s Station and Amelia’s Closet are places where lives are transformed, and I look forward to working alongside the team and community to expand that impact.”

The organization also extends its sincere gratitude to founder Jody Powers for her years of dedicated leadership and vision, which have created a lasting impact in the Murfreesboro community. Her community retirement party will be on June 2nd at Liberty’s Station.
