Three Suspects from an Armed Robbery and Stolen Car are in Custody in Murfreesboro
Three suspects from an armed robbery and stolen car are in custody in Murfreesboro with the help of Murfreesboro Police Dept K9 Juice. After an armed robbery at an ATM, Directed Patrol Units and K9 handler Officer Brown began patrolling local motel parking lots. Officer Brown spotted a person matching the robber’s description. The suspect exited the parking lot as Officer Brown initiated a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle, which was reported stolen, turned off its lights and accelerated away. A vehicle pursuit ensued down Old Fort Parkway. The vehicle was located parked and abandoned on a side street, and a helpful citizen advised the officers of the suspects direction of flight. Officer Brown and his K9 partner Juice began tracking the suspects. Along the track, Juice located one of the suspect’s hat and a stolen handgun that had been dropped. Officer Brown and K9 Juice continued tracking across a railroad and through a creek. Juice located and apprehended one suspect, and a second suspect surrendered. The third and final suspect was caught by Murfreesboro officers maintaining the perimeter. The suspects were charged with several offenses, including aggravated robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, evading arrest, and vehicle theft. Excellent work by the Murfreesboro Police Department, and K9 handler Officer Brown and K9 Juice! Pictured below is the K9 team, who trained with the Metro Police K9 Unit in training class #54.
