TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center earns national recognition for excellence in stroke care

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, has been nationally recognized by the American Heart Association for its commitment to high-quality stroke care, earning the Get With The Guidelines ® – Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award.

The award recognizes TriStar StoneCrest’s use of nationally recognized, researched-based guidelines to support timely, appropriate treatment for stroke patients. TriStar StoneCrest is also designated a Primary Stroke Center, with a system in place to rapidly diagnose and treat stroke patients who come to the emergency department.

Stroke is a leading cause of disability in the U.S. A stroke occurs when a blood vessel supplying the brain is blocked by a clot or ruptures, preventing blood and oxygen from reaching brain tissue. Early stroke detection and treatment are critical to improving survival, minimizing disability and supporting faster recovery.

“When someone is having a stroke, every second matters,” said Ryan LeMasters, chief executive officer at TriStar StoneCrest. “This recognition speaks to the skill and dedication of our physicians, nurses and colleagues who are ready to provide timely, high-quality care for our community. Our goal is to help more people in Rutherford County and the surrounding communities recover and return to the moments that matter most.”

Get With The Guidelines – Stroke is an in-hospital program that helps hospitals align treatment with the latest research-based guidelines, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and supporting long-term recovery.
