Winners of the Siegel High School TN SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference
Siegel High School Mechatronics, Digital Arts, and Criminal Justice students won multiple awards at the TNSkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference recently in Chattanooga.
Under the direction of Jason Veal who teaches Mechatronics 1 and 2, principles of manufacturing, and digital electronics, the following Siegel students won.
- Riley Davis and Blake Armour won the state title in Mechatronics for Siegel for the second year in a row. Riley and Blake will be heading to the nationals in Louisville, Kentucky this June. Blake Armour said that the TNSkillsUSA Conference put him under pressure while competing and allowed him to get a taste of the real world of being in a workplace environment.
Siegel students competed for the first time in the following competitions:
- Kolton Blake won 1st place in Principles of Engineering and Technology.
- Boone Barnett won 2nd place in Computer Numeric Control Milling.
- Richard Grover and Keegan Mullen won bronze in Additive Manufacturing.
Teacher David Picklesimer’s digital arts student Eliana Gallegos won Advertising Design.
Siegel students Alyssa Sanders, Faithlyn Burrum, and Shyricka Scales earned Mock Court state champs. Teacher Cora Proctor instructs principles of law, criminal justice, and court systems and practices.
