Murfreesboro Woman Arrested for Arson

An investigation by both RCFD and RCSO Investigators into the cause of a March 27th house fire has resulted in the arrest of Judith Johnson of Murfreesboro. Mrs. Johnson has been charged with arson and booked into the Rutherford County jail, being held on a $25,000 bond.

The suspicious fire took place around 3:15 am, March 27, 2018, at a single-family dwelling located on Sulphur Springs Road near Allen Road. The home was unoccupied at the time, and there were no injuries.

The RCFRD aggressively investigates fires within Rutherford County to combat the crime of arson, which is one of the costliest human-made disasters. Arson indirectly contributes to increased insurance premiums, higher medical costs, lost jobs, lost income, and the increased cost of fire services.

If you have information on a fire, call the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017. Information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect can result in an award of up to $5,000 dollars.
