9th annual Parade of Lights in La Vergne

The City of La Vergne is kicking off the holiday season with the annual Parade of Light Christmas parade. This year’s theme is the 12 Days of Christmas.

In addition to City of La Vergne emergency vehicles, this year’s parade features the La Vergne High School Band, the Miss La Vergne pageant royalty, and other local churches and community businesses and organizations. Santa will also be making an appearance as he brings in the end of the parade riding in a fire truck!

The parade starts at 6:00 p.m. Veterans Memorial Park on Floyd Mayfield Drive, then turns onto Murfreesboro Road before ending at La Vergne City Hall, 5093 Murfreesboro Road.

This year’s grand marshal is longtime Box 100 volunteer and current chief, Laura Davidson.

Following the parade everyone is invited to head to City Hall where the City will officially flip the switch on this year’s Christmas tree. There will also be performances by the La Vergne High School Choraliers, cookies and hot cocoa, and Santa Claus will be there for anyone who wants to snap a picture or give him their Christmas list.

Everyone is invited to bring canned food and unwrapped, new toys to the tree lighting. FOP Percy Priest Lodge #85 will be collecting food and toys next to where Santa will be taking pictures with kids and families. All donations will go to the FOP’s Christmas for Kids and Seniors program.
