Central Magnet School ranked best in Tennessee for second consecutive year
Central Magnet School has once again been ranked the best high school in Tennessee and 10th best magnet school in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The publication releases rankings each spring identifying the best schools in each state and throughout the nation.
Central has been named among the best in Tennessee for the past several years but topped the list last year and in the most recent rankings, which were released this week.
“The secret is having highly motivated kids and a staff that will do anything it takes to make students successful,” Central Principal Dr. John Ash said.
The school has a long list of accomplishments, including an average composite ACT score of 30.6. In addition, Principal Ash reports the 193 seniors of the Class of 2018 have accepted $11.9 million in scholarships for college, with the average per student being $62,000.
Central Magnet School serves grades 6-12. It is open to any student within Rutherford County and admissions are based on academic performance.
