City Construction Projects for February 11 through February 17

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, Traffic has been shifted onto the new bridge at Broad St & Memorial Blvd Interchange. There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd and Old Fort Pkwy for construction. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. At all times, one lane will remain open in each direction. W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Traffic signal installation work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd is reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Median construction work continues between E Main St and Bell St. Appropriate traffic control will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St) (Est Substantial Completion June, 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – June 30, 2018: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St. The intersection of Church St and Burton St will be closed. Traffic will be detoured Traffic signal installation work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St) (Est Substantial Completion August 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle St is closed between Maple St and Church St. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Haynes Dr Turn Lane Improvement Project at Haynes Dr and Sulphur Springs Road (Est Substantial Completion February 2018)

Expected Lane Closures: Thursday & Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm: The Contractor for the City of Murfreesboro will be paving the new eastbound right turn lane on Haynes Dr at Sulphur Springs Rd. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions for final pavement markings work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City of Murfreesboro Intersection Improvement Project (E Main St and Highland Ave)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be installing handicap ramps and pedestrian signals at E Main St and Highland Ave. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City Water Resources Department Water Line Installation Project (W College St between Maple St and Walnut St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: City Water Resources Department crews will be installing water line along W College St between Maple St and Walnut St. W College St will be closed between Maple St and Walnut St. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Water Line Installation Project (Robert Rose Dr just south of Medical Center Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm: Contractor of a private development will be installing water line across Robert Rose Dr. Traffic on Robert Rose Drive will be reduced to one-lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM: City contractors will be adjusting manholes and castings on the following streets:
1. Highland Ave between E Clark Blvd and E Northfield Blvd
2. MTCS Dr between Memorial Blvd and W Northfield Blvd
Expect lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
