City offices to close in observance of Memorial Day holiday May 25

In observance of Memorial Day, Murfreesboro City Hall and most other City offices will be closed Monday, May 25, 2026. City operations will resume normal business hours, Tuesday, May 26, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Murfreesboro Transit, the City’s public transportation system, will not run on Memorial Day.
Solid Waste Schedule Changes
The Solid Waste Department will be closed Monday, May 25, and there will be no garbage collection on the holiday.
- Monday service moves to Tuesday, May 26
- Tuesday garbage pick-up moves to Wednesday, May 27
- Wednesday service moves to Thursday, May 28
- Thursday collection moves to Friday, May 29

Parks and Recreation
- Adams Tennis Complex will be open Memorial Day, closing at 2 p.m. www.murfreesborotn.gov/AdamsTennis

- The St. Clair Street Senior Center and Patterson Park Community Center will be closed.
Boro Beach Opening and Event
Boro Beach, located at 2310 Memorial Boulevard, officially opens for the 2026 Season, May 23, 2026, from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. On Memorial Day, May 25, Boro Beach will be hosting “Memorial Day Bash” from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m., featuring swimming, music, games, and prizes. Other Memorial Day Weekend Events
Stones River National Battlefield and Cemetery will host several commemorative events:
Saturday, May 23 (10 a.m.) Scouting and youth groups place flags on more than 7,000 headstones in Stones River National Cemetery and the Hazen Brigade Monument. (Registration is required).
Sunday May 24 (1:30 p.m.) Memorial Day service at the cemetery rostrum led by park staff and veterans. Details are available at www.nps.gov/stri or on Facebook at
Memorial Day is a federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May to honor members of the U.S. Armed Forces who died in military service.
