County to Host 7th Annual Chili Cook-off for United Way
Mark your calendars…Rutherford County Government will host its 7th Annual Chili Cook-off benefitting United Way on Friday, November 8 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
“This event is so much fun, and we look forward to it every year,” said Deputy Mayor Steve Sandlin who serves as the Chairperson for the Chili Cook-off Committee. “The food is great, the atmosphere is fun, and where else can you have ‘all you can eat’ chili for just $5?”
Departments will participate in a friendly competition to see who has the “Best Chili,” “Best Hot Chili,” and the “Best Booth Decorations.” This year’s theme is patriotic in honor of Veterans Day.
The event will take place on the east side of the public square near the inner circle. Pre-sale tickets are available in select County departments including Risk Management, Human Resources, Building Codes, and the Property Assessor’s office, but will also be available on event day. All proceeds will be donated to United Way of Rutherford County.
“Come on out and join us in the beautiful downtown area. Eat some chili, meet our county employees, and all for a great cause,” said Sandlin.
