Eric Miller obituary
Eric Lee Miller, age 49 of Christiana died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was a native of Rutherford County and was the son of Ganelle Waterson Miller and the late William Mose Miller, Jr. He was also preceded in death by niece, Sharon Miller and father-in-law, Milton Wyatt Powell.
Mr. Miller married his sweetheart, Donna Powell Miller after dating three years. They married on June 2, 1990 and were happily married for 28 years. He is survived by his children, Colin Wyatt Miller and Maegan LaRayne Miller both of Christiana; brother, Scott Miller (Myra) of Murfreesboro and sister, Tina Hutchens (Robby) of Christiana. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Shirley Powell; sister-in-law, Rhonda Smith both of Murfreesboro; niece, Kaycie Hunsicker (Jon); nephew, Quinn Hutchens, great-nephew and niece, Bentley Royston and Olivia Hunsicker.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Church of Christ, attending Crescent Church of Christ and most recently Fairfield Church of Christ. He was a Maintenance Engineer at Nissan Battery Plant in Smyrna, TN. He was a graduate of Riverdale High School and ITT Technical Institute.
Mr. Miller was a devoted husband and father. He was lovingly known to his family by his childhood nickname “Tigger”. He loved to travel especially out west in the mountains. He was one of the smartest and most talented people that you would ever meet. He could repair or figure out how to repair just about anything. He loved restoring cars, especially building motors to make his cars go way too fast and woodworking. His most favorite hobby was working on the farm or riding on his tractor.
The family would like to thank the physicians and nursing staff at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, for the compassionate care given to Mr. Miller and the family.
Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, December 28, 2018 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Marvin Whitworth and Jeff Adcock will officiate. Burial will follow in the Miller Cemetery, Christiana, TN. Pallbearers will be Robby Hutchens, Jon Hunsicker, Bobby Canterbury, Reid Littlejohn, Tim Hendrixson, Gary Stinnett, Raymond Pegg and Tyrell Spivey. www.woodfinchapel.com
