Gertrude “Trudy” Naomi Brown Palmer obituary

Gertrude “Trudy” Naomi Brown Palmer, age 89 of the Big Springs Community, went to be with the Lord on Friday February 22, 2019. A native of Giles County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Gaius Van William and Florence Mae Tomerlin Brown. Mrs. Palmer was also preceded in death by her brothers, Van, Erskine, Johnny, Billy, NC, Arlen and Paul Wayne; sisters, Frances, Lavonia, Mary and Eva Jane.

Mrs. Palmer is survived by her son, Charles W. Palmer, Jr. and his wife Evangeline; daughter, Debra Hughes and her husband Frank; sister, Theresa Price and her husband Cecil; grandchildren, Penny (Mike) Parker, Chris (Elizabeth) Palmer, Eric (Lauren) Palmer, David (Shandell) Palmer, Amanda (Brian) Wright, David Allan, David and Scotty Hughes; and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Fred Rolater officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Palmer lived the last 47 years in Rutherford County. Trudy was a homemaker who loved gardening, bird watching, playing scrabble and dominoes with friends. She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church.
