Samples will be served and Liberty’s Station’s signature coffee line and mugs will be for sale. This event will be held at Liberty’s Station, 850 NW Broad St. in Murfreesboro. Tickets are $75 space is limited.
Aim for a Purpose Shooting Competition will be at The Outpost Armory, located at 1132 Beasie Road in Murfreesboro, on Thursday, February 23, from 5:30-8 p.m. with the Barrett .50 caliber experience live auction beginning at 5:30 p.m. This event offers a handgun shooting competition, a shooting simulator, and the opportunity to shoot a Barrett .50 caliber. All proceeds from this event will go directly to Liberty’s Station.
The shooting competition will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m., where shooters will be competing in a timed event to challenge accuracy. 9mm and larger caliber handguns are permitted. (At least 50 rounds of ammo are needed.) The Outpost Armory will be providing safety rangers to ensure a safe shooting environment. $50 Early Bird Price Ends January 31st.
This competition will attract gun enthusiasts and those new to the sport. Limited spots are available for the competition. Spectators can purchase a ticket at the door for $20.00.
Liberty’s Station is a progressive workforce pipeline in which 90% of its employees have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or other employment barriers. The organization assesses, trains, and provides food preparation experience to allow its clients to acquire long-term community employment. Many clients have paid internships while they gain their training.
Both the Coffee 101 and Aim for a Purpose events will feature Liberty’s Station STARs serving food and welcoming guests. “Everyone needs a purpose,” said Jody Powers, founding Executive Director of Amelia’s Closet and Liberty’s Station. “The proceeds from these events will help us continue to offer valuable training to those with employment barriers, fueling their potential,” she added.
