United Way Announces a Successful 4th Annual Storybook Breakfast Event
The United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties (UWRCC) announced a successful fourth annual Storybook Breakfast event presented by MMC Pediatrics on Saturday, April 22nd, at Overall Creek Elementary School.
The Storybook Breakfast event brought storytime to life for over 200 participants. More than 20 volunteers served at the two-session event. Friends and families interacted with storybook characters, including Wild Thing, Taco Dragon, Ladybug Girl, Curious George, Elephant & Piggie, and Bruce the Bear. Participants also enjoyed breakfast provided by Chick-fil-a and Dunkin’ Donuts, crafts, and more.

All proceeds from Storybook Breakfast go toward the Rutherford County Imagination Library. The local Imagination Library provides a free, high-quality book each month for all children from birth to age five. The program’s goals are to promote a love of reading and increase access to books, which can significantly impact early literacy development and academic success.
