Buc-ee’s Murfreesboro Trending Toward Fall Opening, Bringing 200 Jobs and Major Tax Revenue

Buc-ee’s in Murfreesboro is continuing to move toward a fall opening, and city leaders say the project could have a major economic impact on the community.

According to the latest update, Buc-ee’s funded roughly $20 million in infrastructure improvements connected to the development, including work around the interstate exit.

Once open, the location is expected to create approximately 200 jobs, with full-time salaries ranging from about $50,000 to $100,000 per year.

The store could also generate significant revenue for Murfreesboro. Buc-ee’s locations reportedly sell an average of around 18 million gallons of fuel and can generate between $3.5 million and $4 million in sales tax revenue annually.

While traffic at the Joe B. Jackson Parkway exit is expected to increase, much of the Buc-ee’s customer base will come directly from the interstate, stop for fuel, food and merchandise, and then continue traveling.
