City Offices Closed for Labor Day holiday Sept. 7
In observance of Labor Day, City of Murfreesboro offices, Murfreesboro Transit, and most Parks & Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026. The City’s public transportation service will not run on Labor Day.
The Solid Waste Department will be closed Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7. There will be no garbage pick-up on Monday. Monday’s garbage pick-up will be Tuesday, Sept. 8, and Tuesday’s garbage pick-up will slide to Wednesday, Sept. 9. Thursday’s trash moves to Friday, Sept.10. McFadden Community Center, Patterson Park Community Center, Wilderness Station, Cannonsburgh Village, Bradley Academy Museum and Cultural Center, and the St. Clair Senior Center will be closed. The Parks and Recreation Main Office at 2140 N. Thompson Lane will be closed Labor Day.
Labor Day is annually observed on the first Monday of September. It became a federal holiday in 1894. City Hall business will resume regular hours of operation, Tuesday, Sept. 8.
