Tinker TEC STEAM Program: Horned Toads

Tinker TEC has a simple, effective format — read a nonfiction picture book, then do the experiment or craft that goes with it. Ages 5 to 8, half an hour, free.

This week the theme is horned toads. The rest of the month runs caves on 10 September and forms of energy on 17 September, so if the format suits your child it is worth putting all three on the calendar at once.

When: Thursday, September 3, 2026, 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Technology Engagement Center, Murfreesboro
Ages: 5 to 8
Cost: Free.

Thirty minutes is deliberate. It is long enough to build something and short enough to end before anyone melts down.
