Rutherford County Sheriff Candidate Trey Mansfield to Host Campaign Kickoff Event March 5 at Murfreesboro Airport

Trey Mansfield, a Murfreesboro Police Officer and Republican candidate for Rutherford County Sheriff, will host his official Campaign Kickoff Event on Thursday, March 5, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Murfreesboro Municipal Airport. The event will provide an opportunity for community members to hear directly from Mansfield as he outlines his vision, priorities, and leadership approach for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

“With more than three decades in law enforcement, I understand both the strengths and the challenges within our system,” said Mansfield. “I’m running to bring strong leadership, higher standards, and a clear focus on public safety and professionalism.”

Mansfield brings more than 33 years of law enforcement experience. He offers firsthand knowledge of police leadership, modern policing practices, patrol operations, K-9 handling, SWAT service, and community-focused law enforcement. Throughout his career, he has led officers in high-pressure environments, coordinated with partner agencies, and helped implement operational policies and standards. His experience provides deep insight into the challenges facing law enforcement and the communities they serve.

• Community Safety — Strengthening drug prevention, enforcement, and rehabilitation partnerships.
• Comprehensive School & Child Safety — Continuing to support and enhance the School Resource Officer (SRO) program, expanding child advocacy services, advancing
  drug prevention initiatives, and aggressively targeting child sex predators.
• Jail Reform — Bringing the county jail into full legal compliance, improving operations, and reducing costly litigation.
