MTSU Celebrates Reopening of Historic Kirksey Old Main
Middle Tennessee State University celebrated more than a century of campus history with the official reopening of the newly renovated Kirksey Old Main.
Originally opened in 1911 as part of Middle Tennessee State Normal School, Kirksey Old Main has served generations of students and faculty while evolving alongside the university.
The renovated building now features updated classrooms, labs and collaborative spaces for students, while also welcoming MTSU’s Math and Computer Science departments back home.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated both the history of one of MTSU’s original buildings and the beginning of its next chapter serving students for years to come.
